What is Social Security Disability and how do you claim state disability?

State disability claims for social security disability and ssi
Long term disability as far as social security disability or SSD goes is part of the Federal Social Security Administration or SSA and is paid to individuals whom have worked in the past years and are now unable to work or be employed because of a disability and or disabilities. This program is different from State Disability, as not all states offer "state disability".

According to the Social Security Administration usually you have to work five out of the last ten years. For individuals under 31 years old, the requirements maybe different since they have not been in the work force as long.

Another long term disability program by the gov. as far as social security benefit programs go is Supplemental Security Income benefits or SSI. It is paid to individuals who are lower level income and disabled whether or not the individual has worked in the past. SSI child's disability benefits are paid to children who are under 18 years old, are disabled and the parents or guardian are lower level income. (For more information please select State below)
